- • 2 lbs boneless chicken breast, cubed
- • 1 cup plain yogurt
- • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- • 2 teaspoons garam masala
- • 1 teaspoon cumin
- • 1 teaspoon paprika
- • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- • 1 large onion, finely diced
- • 4 cloves garlic, minced
- • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- • 1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce
- • 1 cup heavy cream
- • 1 teaspoon ground fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi)
- • 1 teaspoon sugar
- • Fresh cilantro for garnish
- • Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Step 1: Combine yogurt, lemon juice, garam masala, cumin, paprika, turmeric, and salt. Add chicken and marinate for at least 2 hours.
- Step 2: Thread chicken onto skewers (or use a grill pan). Cook under broiler or on high heat until charred and cooked through, about 12-15 minutes.
- Step 3: In a large pan, heat oil over medium heat. Sauté onion until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Step 4: Add garlic and ginger, cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Step 5: Pour in tomato sauce and simmer for 10 minutes. Add fenugreek and sugar.
- Step 6: Stir in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Step 7: Add the grilled chicken tikka pieces to the sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes to let flavors meld.
- Step 8: Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Garnish with cilantro and serve with basmati rice or naan.
