- • 2 lbs chicken wings or drumettes
- • 1 cup all-purpose flour
- • 1/2 cup cornstarch
- • 1 teaspoon baking powder
- • 1 cup cold water
- • Vegetable oil for frying
- • 3 tablespoons gochujang
- • 3 tablespoons honey
- • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- • 3 cloves garlic, minced
- • Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Step 1: Pat chicken completely dry. Season with salt and pepper.
- Step 2: Mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and water to make batter.
- Step 3: Heat oil to 350°F. Dip chicken in batter, fry for 10 minutes. Drain and rest 5 minutes.
- Step 4: Increase oil to 375°F. Fry chicken again for 5-7 minutes until extra crispy.
- Step 5: Make sauce: whisk gochujang, honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and garlic in a pan. Heat until bubbly.
- Step 6: Toss hot chicken in sauce. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
