Ingredients

  • • 2 lbs pork ribs, cut into serving pieces
  • • 1 packet sinigang mix (tamarind soup base)
  • • 2 medium tomatoes, quartered
  • • 1 onion, quartered
  • • 2 cups kangkong (water spinach)
  • • 1 cup string beans, cut into 2-inch pieces
  • • 2 medium radish, sliced
  • • 2 Thai chilies (optional)
  • • 8 cups water
  • • Fish sauce to taste

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Boil pork ribs in water for 10 minutes. Skim off the scum. Add tomatoes and onion.
  2. Step 2: Simmer for 1 hour until pork is tender.
  3. Step 3: Add radish and string beans. Cook for 10 minutes.
  4. Step 4: Stir in sinigang mix. Adjust sourness to your preference.
  5. Step 5: Add kangkong and chilies. Cook just until greens are wilted.
  6. Step 6: Season with fish sauce to taste. Serve hot with steamed rice.
