Lumpia Shanghai - Appetizers recipe

Ingredients

  • • 1 lb ground pork
  • • 1/2 lb shrimp, minced
  • • 1 cup carrots, finely grated
  • • 1/2 cup water chestnuts, minced
  • • 3 green onions, finely chopped
  • • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • • 1 egg
  • • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • • 1 pack lumpia wrappers
  • • Oil for frying
  • • Sweet chili sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Mix pork, shrimp, carrots, water chestnuts, green onions, garlic, egg, soy sauce, and sesame oil.
  2. Step 2: Place 1 tablespoon of filling on the edge of a lumpia wrapper. Roll tightly, tucking in sides.
  3. Step 3: Seal the edge with water. Repeat with remaining filling and wrappers.
  4. Step 4: Heat oil to 350°F. Fry lumpia in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Step 5: Drain on paper towels.
  6. Step 6: Serve hot with sweet chili sauce.
