Ingredients

  • • 8 slices thick-cut brioche or challah bread
  • • 3 large eggs
  • • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • • 2 tablespoons butter
  • • Maple syrup and powdered sugar to serve

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  2. Step 2: Heat a large non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon of butter and let it melt.
  3. Step 3: Dip each bread slice into the egg mixture, letting it soak for 20–30 seconds per side.
  4. Step 4: Place soaked bread in the skillet and cook 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and set.
  5. Step 5: Work in batches, adding more butter as needed between batches.
